Sir Karl Jenkins – Festival Patron
We are delighted to announce that Sir Karl Jenkins is endorsing the Festival by becoming our patron. Lauded as the “most-performed living composer in the world”, Gower-born Sir Karl Jenkins is one of Wales’ most famous ambassadors of music. We are privileged to receive his endorsement and look forward to performing some of his works at the festival.
An Evening with Sir Karl Jenkins
“The Cathedral at St David’s has been host to some major classical music events over the years, but Britain’s smallest city must surely count Saturday’s event among its greatest.”
The Western Telegraph, May 2017
Established in 2002, the Milford Haven Music Festival has become one of the foremost exponents of musical talent in Wales. Attracting National as well as International artists, the festival has provided the coastal town of Milford Haven with many musical delights. In 2017 the festival held it’s most ambitious event to date – An Evening with Sir Karl Jenkins at St David’s Cathedral. Combining a 90 piece orchestra and a 100 strong choir, our Patron Sir Karl Jenkins held the baton to conduct an evening of his own music in the majestic surroundings of St David’s Cathedral. This was the composer’s debut at the historic cathedral. The evening was a complete sell out and was hailed in the press as “one of the greatest” concerts ever held in St Davids. Following this success, the Festival, now a registered charity, has now been moved from September to the month of May. The 2018 Festival will be held at St Katharine’s Church, Milford Haven.
