Sir Karl Jenkins – Festival Patron
We are delighted to announce that Sir Karl Jenkins is endorsing the Festival by becoming our patron. Lauded as the “most-performed living composer in the world”, Gower-born Sir Karl Jenkins is one of Wales’ most famous ambassadors of music. We are privileged to receive his endorsement and look forward to performing some of his works at the festival.
A Festival by the sea
Established in 2002, the Milford Haven Music Festival has become one of the foremost exponents of musical talent in Wales. Attracting National as well as International artists, the festival has provided the coastal town of Milford Haven with many musical delights. The 2015 Festival is no exception. This year we launched our new home – St Katharine’s Church, Milford Haven – with a stunning Candlelit Opera Gala. The concert took place on Saturday April 18th to a packed audience and featured 4 of Wales’ most promising young opera stars. Soprano Laura Parfitt, Mezzo-Soprano Sioned Gwen Davies, Tenor Trystan-Llyr Griffiths and Baritone Gary Griffiths. The evening was accompanied by pianist David Doidge, who is currently a Répétiteur at the Welsh National Opera. Sir Geraint Evans once lauded St Katharine’s as having one of the best acoustics he had ever heard and commented on how perfect the venue would be for a professional recording. So we invite you to join us this year at St Katharine’s, to experience the high standard of musical talent on offer and to celebrate our wonderful, intimate music making on the Pembrokeshire Coast.
