YOUNG OPERA SINGER OF THE YEAR 2017

“The Douglas Rees Memorial” Young Opera Singer of the Year was created in 2017 and is organised by the Milford Haven Music Festival. The Prize recognises the life and achievements of the late Milford Haven Businessman, Douglas Rees, who’s family’s motor trade business “Fred Rees Garages” has recently celebrated its 90th Anniversary. Douglas was the husband of our Festival director and founder, Mrs June Rees MBE. We are thrilled to endorse this prize as a fitting tribute to a wonderful and generous, gentleman. The Milford Haven Music Festival has singing at it’s heart and we are delighted to become Wales’ new prize for young budding opera singers.
